Volnay Louis Jadot Vintage 1989 VINTAGE WINES 1959This famous firm started in 1859 and still has its headquarters in Beaune today. Volnay was awarded its own appellation for red wines in 1937. The 1989 vintage was excellent across the region. Typical blend, Pinot Noir. 75cl bottle. Abv 13% Bottle condition, capsule good, label good, wine level 2cm below base of neck.

While on first pour it was painfully obvious this was mature left bank Bordeaux

allowing the aromas to mature slowly and the length and complexity of the wine to develop

of which Montrose was one
